Alliance for Affordable Services Invests $105,000
in America’s Future

Did you know that, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics, people with a Bachelor's degree earn over 70 percent more on average than those with only a high school diploma? Over a lifetime, the gap in earning potential between a high school diploma and a B.A. (or higher) is more than $1 million.

The Alliance for Affordable Services recognizes this trend and is dedicated to helping America’s youth succeed. The association provides financial aid for college to the dependents of Alliance Members through the Alliance Scholarship Program.

To that end, the association is proud to announce the recipients of the 2005 Alliance Scholarship Program. These outstanding students possess exemplary academic records and represent communities across the United States.

This year, the Alliance is providing $105,000 to award scholarships to 66 dependents of Alliance Members—more than ever before in the history of the program!

“The Alliance Board of Directors knows how valuable a college education is. We are committed to helping Members see that their children receive the education and opportunities they deserve,” says William Callaghan, President and Chairman of the Board. “That is the sole purpose for the existence of the Alliance Scholarship Program—to support our members and their dependents on the path to success.”

In addition to first-time awards for college freshman ($2,000 each) and continuing college students ($1,000 each), all recipients who maintain a 3.5 GPA are eligible to apply for a $1,000 renewal scholarship for up to three consecutive years.

The Alliance Scholarship Program was established to take some of the burden off the shoulders of Alliance Members trying to send their children to college. As college tuition costs continue to climb, affording college can become more and more of stumbling block, especially for small-business owners. The program is open to dependents of Alliance Members ages 16-28.
