Alliance for Affordable Services Awards 107 College Scholarships
The Alliance for Affordable Services has awarded $176,000 in scholarships to 107 students from across the nation. Alliance proudly celebrates ten years of offering educational assistance dependents of its members by awarding more scholarships this year than ever before.
Self-employed individuals and small-business owners struggle day-to-day to keep up with their corporate America counterparts. While those working for corporations have access to scholarship programs for their dependents, the self-employed and small-business owners often do not. The Alliance designed the scholarship program to help level the playing field for Alliance Members and their families in this respect.
The program, open to dependents of Alliance Members ages 16-28, presents $2,000 to first time recipients pursuing their undergraduate degree. Renewing scholarships are available up to three consecutive years for $1,000 to those students who maintain a 3.5 GPA.
“Members of the Alliance can watch their sons and daughters--the leaders of tomorrow--build their futures,” says President of the Alliance for Affordable Services Paul Pevsner, M.D. “The Alliance strives to provide financial support for students of the self-employed who continually fight the increasing costs of operating a business and raising a family. Encouraging these students is simply another way the Alliance supports our members.”
Congratulations to the 2006 Alliance Scholarship recipients!
